rez kids

Our Anglican worship is deeply experiential. A person does not have to fully understand it to participate in it. Since the Body of Christ is made up of all generations of believers, we include everyone, including children, in the worship, prayer, and mission of Church of the Resurrection.

Children of all ages are invited and encouraged to participate in our Sunday worship services. We pray that kids will learn to worship by seeing adults worship, hearing the music, and receiving the sacraments. This may be new for some parents, but we hope it is a comfort to know that we at RezArvada welcome children in worship. That means the sound of children whispering, playing, and even crying is considered an answer to prayer.

The Lord's Table is set for the Lord's People, as a meal of remembrance, participation, and celebration. All who have walked through the waters of baptism, including children, are welcome. The Lord's Table is for the Lord's children. Let us then feed them with the blessing of Christ and teach them through the Supper that the privilege of communion with Christ and his Church belongs to them.

Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through story. Through it they gain religious language and enhance their spiritual experience in wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiraling curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle and late childhood (and beyond).

Our class sessions begin in the sanctuary with corporate worship and then move to the Godly Play room. Children return to the service to receive Holy Communion if they have been baptized.
